Wow. Yeah. It's been a while since I've written here, but now I've come up with a reasonable plotsection that might fit quite well. The entire thing was inspired by the song "the Kiss" on the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack. It really started as this utter rush of emotion as I listened to the song, and I took that and tried to translate that into the emotions a character might feel.
Let me start out by saying that the song is active, but it's also sad. It's grand and it's resolved and steady, with a fast starting melody and a steady slow and pushing countermelody in the background. I pictured a girl looking through the flames of all that she ever loved burning in the night and seeing the face of the man that destroyed everything that she held dear...but also knowing him to be the man she loves...
Solution to this plot problem? Well, I seriously have to find for what reasons a man could do something that horrific and still remain honorable enough to deserve that young woman's love...
possibilities: His own wife is in jeopardy, and in order for her to remain alive, he must carry out some deed for another who is in power...therefore, someone who governs whether or not his wife dies. That's one possibility. Another is that he was under the influence...or he was there but didn't participate...or he was there trying to prevent it...but that doesn't make things as interesting, heehee. He has to have done it...but how...
I'll ponder on this more...
